“Life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans”
John Lennon (1940-80) British rock musician

We often say things like, “when I’m older, I’ll do this; if I had more time, I would start this project; when my children are grown up, I’ ll have more time to take care of myself.” If, If, If, when, when, when…are just excuses to test our determination.
When we really care about someone, we do what we must do.
When we really care about something, we become very creative in order to get what we want.
What we can be, we must become, ultimately, it is one of the best ways to be at peace with ourselves.
Stop waiting and Start acting NOW.
What are you waiting for?

This quote reminds me of a great lesson in life that was given to me a age 35 or so, by a woman who was around 60. We were discussing her plans for retirement and I was telling her I she was lucking to be 1 year of two away from being “free” (I didn’t really like my job at that time). And then, with apprehension in her voice, she told me something I will never forget : “You know, the more I get closer the retirement, the less I am looking forward to it”. Right then and there, I promised myself to always appreciate the period of my life I was going through. Sometimes it is about looking for the good stuff and focussing on it, sometimes, it meant making bigs changes in my life when it became more and more difficult to find good stuff. I think of that conversation from time to time and I thank that woman for having been so honest and authentic with me. She gave a very important gift that day.
