“No matter how small and unimportant what we are doing may seem, if we do it well, it may become the step that will lead us to better things.”

To me this quote means: do things with intent, do things and put meaning into it. Prepare lunch or supper and put love in it, thinking of the people who will eat it and enjoy it. On the professional level, I verified this quote. When I was 26, I started as a secretary in a big corporation, with a university degree in hand… but I chose that job with intent: it was in the media industry and that was where I wanted to develop my talents. Even getting coffee for our guests was an oppportunity to feel valuable because I made them feel welcome. I stayed with the department 5 years, getting a promotion every year without asking for it. One day, I said to my boss: “you know, every new job you gave me, I had been doing for a while already” and she realised it was true. I had put intent and meaning in all the little and bigger tasks that were sent my way, and in doing so, I created new positions for myself. Leave your life like it matters: it worked for me and still does, and even with smaller things! Great quote Stephen, as always… gives me a chance to reflect and share what makes me happy!
